ASTROLOGY

This is a series covering individual topics in Astrology in depth. The prerequisite is a basic knowledge of planets, signs, and houses. For students who are totally new to Astrology, the class "Beginning Astrology" is recommended first.

ASTROLOGY COLLOQUIUM

The purpose of the colloquium is to provide an opportunity to delve more deeply into topics of special interest in Astrology and to provide a supportive environment for applying new insights directly to chart readings. Each month we’ll choose a particular topic to investigate. At the end of the session the group can decide to extend that topic for an additional session or pick a new one. A working knowledge of Astrology is required. Please bring charts you would like to work on.

Ongoing sessions, 2nd Wed. of each month beginning Feb. 13th, 7-9 pm. $10/session

Facilitator: Rebecca Krantz

TAROT

Beginning Tarot Classes will resume in the Fall of 2008.

TAROT PRACTICUM

Many tarot students have made the same request: more practice with someone to give guidance. Once a month, we'll do just that–we'll practice on each other and on volunteers, look over readings we have done elsewhere, get helpful opinions, and discuss problems that come up in the reading process. This is not a class covering card definitions; it is a facilitated practice of tarot reading in a friendly setting.

Ongoing sessions, 4th Wed. of each month; 7-9 pm. $10/session. Bring your own cards.

Facilitator: Loui Pieper. Loui has been reading and teaching Tarot and related subjects for 28 years.

MENTORING ELDERS PROGRAM:
NUTURING THE ADULT WITHIN AND
BUILDING A VIABLE COMMUNITY

The Mentoring Elders Program (MEP) is for existing elders who want to improve their skill sets, or those about to become elders who want to know what's involved. Its ultimate purpose is to build viable, long-term communities within neo-Paganism. It does this through crating a framework for training Elders within a community. It does not create specialists, but rather generalists—people with an very broad range of knowledge—who know enough to make informed decisions, or when to call an expert.

The MEP is composed of a six-week intro course followed by 11 subsequent courses of varying length that may be taken in any order. The introductory course is mandatory prerequisite for joining the Mentoring Elders Program. The order, dates, and costs of the subsequent courses will be discussed in the introductory course. All costs cover room use fees at the School.

MEP ONGOING SESSIONS

Every Thursday nite we explore one of the topics from the MEP syllabus. Drawing on the experiences of the participants, we flesh out, discuss, and improve our understanding of the topic. Interested people may audit a session, but must go through the introductory course before joining the ongoing sessions.

Ongoing sessions on Thur. nites, 7-9 pm. $5/nite

Facilitated by Volkhvy. Volkhvy is a Third degree Elder in WiCoM, a shaman, and a Third-order Druid in the SDNA. He has taught for over 16 years in the WiCoM Twisted Willow Training Coven. He's been a pagan for 40 years.

Northern Traditions

Taught by Kari Tauring – an author, educator, and performance artist working in the Twin Cities area for twenty years. With a Masters in Teaching and through her many years of experience, students find her classes compelling, engaging, and often wish to repeat them as they delve deep into the roots of Norse Tradition. A practicing volva (shaman) and ritualist, Kari's work resonates to the core of human spiritual longing. For more information: www.karitauring.com, 612.729.4019
